Honoring Those Who Served
The Long Walk Project provides hand-carved walking sticks to veterans — each one made by hand, named for its keeper, and given freely as a sign of gratitude for their service.
"A stick carved from the forest, shaped by hand, given to someone who carried more than most — that's not a gift. That's a covenant."
The Process
Tell us your story — your service, your journey, what you're still carrying and where you're headed.
Your application is matched with a guild carver whose style and background fits your story.
The carver reads your story, finds your wood on the trail, and carves a spirit meant for you alone.
Your named stick ships free with a personal certificate. No cost. No catch. Just a long walk ahead.
For Veterans
Any veteran, any branch, any era. If you served, you qualify. The application takes about 10 minutes and asks you to share a piece of your story. That story is what your stick is built from.

We're building a guild of carvers across the country who want to put their skills toward something that matters. You set your own pace. We handle the matching, coordination, and shipping costs.

— The Long Walk Project
Your donation funds materials, finishing supplies, and shipping for a veteran who will carry that stick for the rest of their life. That's a pretty good return on $150.
